That’s God’s language!

Pastor-teacher, John MacArthur says, “Speak the truth about the sin in order to speak the truth about the Savior who forgives.” Praise God that he does! I wonder how different things would be if every pastor-teacher would take a leaf from his book and do the same. In his new book, a Senator in the Australian Government has spoken out against the nation’s non-traditional families, surrogacy, abortion and euthanasia and he calls on fellow Conservatives to help reverse the trends in social acceptance of changing attitudes. As expected, the godless Greens and the Marxist Left have blasted him, his colleagues have remained tight-lipped, and so have the church leaders

The Senator says, “I believe that by stripping God and religious principles from our culture (and our politics) we have become a nation which does not know which port it is sailing to.” Perhaps this man should be in the pulpit and those in the pulpit should be in politics! More: The Senator says, “It is horrendous and unacceptable that the abortion death industry dispatches 80,000 to 100,000 unborn children in Australia every year.” Given they represent the Giver of life, wouldn’t you think there would be at least one church leader with spiritual guts and authority enough willing to stand up and publicly support this man? They’ll come out of the woodwork to support LGBTs, Muslims and man-made climate change, but not so for truth or life. How sick!

Church pulpits are replete with people willing to speak the truth about the Savior who forgives but they’re less willing by far to speak the truth about the sin. As a result, the message of forgiveness is not received by the hearer because he or she doesn’t see him or herself as God sees him or her. Examples: God doesn’t see unmarried couples “making love.” He sees fornication. Unless forgiven by the Savior, fornicators go to hell. God doesn’t see married people “having an illicit affair on the side.” He sees adultery. Unless forgiven by the Savior, adulterers go to hell. God doesn’t see same-sex practice as “normal, loving behavior.” He sees it as an abomination. Unless forgiven by the Savior, abominable practitioners go to hell.

God doesn’t charge a woman with “having an abortion.” He charges her as an accessory to murder. God doesn’t charge doctors with “terminating pregnancies.” He charges them with murder of defenseless, unborn children. Unless forgiven by the Savior, murderers go to hell. Again, God doesn’t charge a person with “euthanasia” “dying with dignity” “mercy killing” or “doctor-assisted suicide.” He charges the dying one with self-murder and the one who assists as an accessory to murder. Unless forgiven by the Savior, self-murderers and murder-assistants go to hell. Fornication, adultery, abomination and murder; that’s God’s language! If those in pulpits spoke God’s language instead of their own or Satan’s, there would be a lot less heartache in the world.

God’s will must be done God’s way. That’s what gave Moses his great success over everything Pharaoh threw against him, as well as anyone else who took him on. I’ll be with your mouth and I will teach you what you shall say Exodus 4:12. Had Moses substituted God’s language for his own or Satan’s, he and his people would have drowned in the Red Sea along with Pharaoh’s crowd and that would have been the end of it! Doing God’s will God’s way is what gave Joshua his mighty successes too. And not a man of all their enemies stood against them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. Not a word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass Joshua 21:44-45.

God spoke to His people through the prophet Isaiah. I have put My words in your mouth Isaiah 51:16. Those who spoke God’s language experienced God’s hand with them in all their doings; those who didn’t, experienced avoidable adversities and adversaries. Sixty-odd years later the prophet Jeremiah received the same promise. Then the LORD put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the LORD said to me: Behold, I have put My words in your mouth Jeremiah 1:9. Had Jeremiah substituted God’s language for his own or Satan’s, there would be no Book of Jeremiah in the Bible today. Ezekiel the prophet tells us, Then the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said to me, Speak! Thus says the LORD….. Ezekiel 11:5. Ezekiel spoke!

Jesus didn’t substitute God’s language for His own or Satan’s. I speak what I have seen with My Father…. John 8:38. Again: For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak John 12:49. Faithful and obedient to the letter, was Jesus. Had He not been He would not have fulfilled the promise spoken of Him in 1410 BC, I will raise up a Prophet like you (Moses) from among their brethren, and I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him Deuteronomy 18:18. All the apostles and disciples of Christ spoke God’s language. Not one of them deviated from it. That’s why they were able to turn the world right-side up!

As Christians, we too are in possession of the same promise. What was theirs is ours! But what does it (the Scripture) say? “The word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we (the apostles) preach) Romans 10:8. It is God’s grand desire for everyone to be in possession of that promise plus multitudes of others declared in the Bible. When Christians in both pulpits and pews substitute God’s language for their own or Satan’s, they are the ones expressing hate speech to fornicators, adulterers, murderers, perverts and the like, not us. God’s language is love speech. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life John 3:16.

A church that embraces the language of self or Satan may give an appearance of being loving, giving, godly and compassionate etc, but that’s all it is – an appearance. The Holy Spirit has removed His presence from its midst. In reality it is now a godless, loveless, man-centered religious institution comprising selfish, stiff-necked, rebellious people like those in days of old who set their hearts to worship a god of their own making Exodus 32:7-9. No wonder the Senator says, “we have become a nation which does not know which port it is sailing to.” The institutional church doesn’t know which port it is sailing to either. In fact, it’s not sailing to anywhere, it is sailing round and around in a circle like a rudderless boat without a sail!

If the Lord Jesus or the apostle Paul preached from the pulpit in most Western world churches today, they would only get to do it once. They would never be invited back. Perhaps they wouldn’t get too far into preaching before some coughing, spluttering deacon or elder stood up and told them to leave! Certainly they would be accused of lacking love, tolerance and compassion. Certainly they would be accused of hate speech. The only church that would embrace them would be the one that knows which “port” it is sailing to. Praise God that there will always be a few that do know! Righteousness and holiness is the desire of those in that church and they know both are impossible to receive unless the language of God is preached.

Jesus said, Unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter heaven Matthew 5:20. The unknown writer said, Without holiness no one will see the Lord  Hebrews 12:14. If we claim to belong to Christ, we are obligated to embrace righteousness and holiness and we are obligated to proclaim such to others. The only way for anyone to be righteous and holy is to be blood-washed in Jesus. That’s not hate speech, that’s love speech. It was the apostle Paul’s love speech that fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, sodomites, thieves, the covetous, drunkards, revilers and extortioners responded to in Corinth. They got blood-washed then transformed by the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

Holy Spirit-led, Jesus Christ-centered, Bible-based Christians are not judgmental or homophobic; therefore, we do not bow to those accusations. Every such Christian can look at that list above and see their former selves in there somewhere. That’s what the true church of Christ is made up of – redeemed sinners, delivered from their sin and set free from their immorality. But that would never have happened had someone failed to speak the truth about the sin. Are we perfect? Not of ourselves, no. But we’re being perfected in Perfect Jesus Christ and that’s the grand difference. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus Colossians 1:28. That’s God’s language!
