What might the heart attitude and behavior of the human race look like when God lifts His hand of restraint from it? Well, in this present time we’re getting a glimpse of what it might look like as we view such in the “Movements” Black Lives Matter and Antifa, especially those in the USA. Do we see in either of these groups, heart attitudes and behaviors expressing love, or joy or peace or patience or kindness or goodness or faithfulness or gentleness or self control? Clearly not! Anarchy and lawlessness are what we’re seeing. Nothing new here of course; the people of Europe saw plenty of this during the 1920’s to 1940’s, as have the peoples of Central and South America and elsewhere since that time.
The heart is deceitful above all things; and desperately wicked; who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9. That’s what God says about the nature and character of human beings; we were born in that condition – a godless condition! This explains the heart attitude and behavior of the people in these movements. If they grow up without any consciousness of God, then with the “right” influences and conditions, this is what they will lower themselves to – anarchy and lawlessness. And for those who disagree with God’s diagnosis of the human heart, think back to the heart attitudes and behaviors expressed by the fearful and greedy who cleaned out the supermarkets in a matter of minutes during the so-called pandemic, corona-virus earlier this year.
The characteristics of a deceitful and desperately wicked heart: proud, rebellious, angry, fearful, violent, hateful, jealous, selfish, envious, greedy, haughty, deceitful, sexually immoral, liar, thief, murderer, covetous, malicious, evil-minded, brutal, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful, boastful, slanderous, blasphemous, lawless, treacherous. In addition to this, many such people are highly educated, highly certificated, highly qualified, highly influential, highly positioned in mainstream media, politics, governments, churches, universities and big business. On a global level, multitudes in this latter group are the movers and shakers, the manipulators and controllers, the intimidators and dominators of world opinion, hence the subjugation or servitude of the masses to all things godless!
In other words, the latter group are fully fledged truth-hating Marxist/Communists who stand against anything and everything Judeo/Christian. It is not the tattooed, the unwashed, the unkempt and the uneducated members of these movements that are the creators of anarchy and lawlessness; they are simply the brainwashed, puppet foot-soldiers of this crowd, whose minds have been systematically conditioned since early childhood to carry out their dirty work while they hide behind their robes of so-called respectability. That statement was made in 1958! Here we are 62 years later in 2020, and it’s unfolding rapidly before our eyes. One can only imagine what the heart attitude and behavior of the human race might look like when God does lift His hand of restraint from it. In 1956, former Soviet Union Premier, Nikita Khrushchev said, “We will take America without firing a shot. We do not have to invade the U.S. We will destroy you from within….” No doubt he had in mind the entire world when he declared that, but he knew that by beginning with America, all other nations would rapidly fall into line, then drop like dominoes. When the wicked spring up like grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish, it is that they may be destroyed forever Psalm 92:7.
The day that God lifts His hand of restraint from the human race is the same day that He lifts the biblical church from the earth. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. This, we call the Rapture; the event in which God plucks His spiritually born again believers from the earth in order to make way for His righteous judgments that He will pour out upon the earth-dwellers of that time – the tribulation period.
So what might the heart attitude and behavior of the earth-dwellers of that day look like then, once the biblical church is gone? Well, refer back to the characteristics of a deceitful and desperately wicked heart listed here in the third paragraph and dwell on them for a while. Then think of yourself as one among them. Because if you are not a spiritually born-again believer you will be one among them if Jesus comes in your lifetime! Heed the declaration of Jesus Christ: Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God…… Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God…… Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ John 3:3-7.
You may not see yourself as having all those characteristics, or at least the depth of them that you see in others, but God sees you as such; that’s why you’ll be an earth-dweller not a heaven-dweller if you reject Christ and His gift of salvation. You see, a liar is a liar regardless of how big or little you see yourself as one. The same applies as a thief. Most people don’t murder but they do express hatred, therefore they possess a spirit of murder and would carry it out if granted legal permission. People are blasphemous; they hate God, they reject His Bible, they curse Jesus’ name. If you are honest with yourself when dwelling on that list, you will agree that it applies to you. It applies to all who are outside of Christ.
Therefore imagine this; the church is gone, the hand of God’s restraint is now lifted. Anarchy and lawlessness are now mobilized full swing in every district, town and city across the globe in measures that make the 2020 USA riots look like Sunday school picnics. Homes are broken into on masse, they’re pillaged, plundered then burned. Elsewhere home owners and renters are thrown out, the anarchists and lawless move in; the same for motor vehicle owners. The old are murdered, the not so old are raped then murdered, the young are raped repeatedly, tortured then murdered. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…… John 10:10a. Who is the thief? The father of anarchists and the lawless, Satan the devil!
All lawlessness is an attack on God. The anarchists and lawless don’t know that but their father does. In addition to pride, it was lawlessness that got him thrown out of God’s heaven. As Lucifer, he held a high position in heaven. Some time later he became discontented with that. He said, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God…… , I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High Isaiah 14:13-14. Ever since, Satan has done everything he can to strike back at God. In the process (apart from demonic angels who fell with him) he has used every mature person born into the human race except One, to do his bidding. This One he could never use! Who is that One? Lord Jesus Christ, God Almighty Incarnate.
For whoever will believe: Jesus took upon Himself your deceitful and desperately wicked heart, plus all the characteristics associated with it and died for you so that you could live. No hell (eternal death) for you in other words, only heaven with God and His people. In exchange, He offers you His heart, plus all His characteristics. That’s what He is saying to you with, I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly John 10:10b. God’s hand of restraint will surely be lifted from the human race! Nobody knows when but God; when it is, will you be an earth-dweller or a heaven-dweller? “For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord GOD. “Therefore turn and live.” Ezekiel 18:32. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness John 12:46.
