Five Reasons Why People Will Go Through The Great Tribulation

I’ve been giving attention to some Scriptures  declaring God’s forthcoming wrath, one day soon to be poured out upon all haters of God in what Jesus calls, great tribulation such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. Matthew 24:21. It’s not a pretty picture! Neither should it be when one looks at the kind of people they are. They’re not pretty either … pretty ugly in fact! Ugly spirited, that is. New Testament Romans 1:18-32 reveals the kind of people He’s dealing with, Romans 2:8-9 declares the kind of judgment, “tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek (non-Jew).

Frightening days ahead indeed … men will lose all color in their face and behave like women in child birth, which is a far cry from the way most of them arrogantly strut themselves throughout society at the moment. They don’t believe this of course, but Jesus does and so do I. Imagine this, there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken Luke 21:25-26. Yes, even the macho men will whimper and cry like little babies in diapers. The only difference being, dear mother will have nothing with which to soothe them.

Who would have thought that, the wicked have drawn their sword…..to slay those who are of upright conduct Psalm 37:14 and, the bloodthirsty hate the blameless Proverbs 29:10 applied to anyone other than an Adolf Hitler or a Josef Stalin, Mao Tse Tung or similar. But take a serious look at the deep despising and hatred much of the world expresses for God, Jesus Christ, the Bible, the Jews and born again Christians and you will find many possessed of the same spirit. Given the same opportunity they would do exactly the same … and they will when God removes the church from the world. God have mercy upon the Jews and earth-dwelling Christians in that day! Without it, they don’t stand a chance.

I used to think it would be the Muslims who will do the beheading of Jews and Christians, and whilst I still think that, I now see that anybody and everybody will do it given the opportunity. And the opportunity will be given because all restraint will be lifted from the earth and lawlessness will abound on such a scale it will make the Nazi Germans behavior of the 1930’s-40’s look like a church picnic. You see, as the judgments of God are poured out upon the godless, the godless will take their revenge out on Jews and Christians and everybody else that gets in their way. The old, the young, defenseless men, women and children – there will be no such thing as mercy or compassion for any of them.

If we Christians think God is exposing the hearts of the godless right now – and He is – it’s nothing to what He’s going do in the time of the great tribulation. Whilst the deceiving, red horse rider Antichrist will be permitted to create great conflict taking peace from the earth with his mass murdering, so the ordinary people will be killing one another too, on a scale far greater than Nazi Germany, Communist Russia and China combined. Great scarcity of food awaits them all too as the black horse rider of famine has his day. Not only will it be scarce, it’ll be so expensive as to be unaffordable for the majority and so they will starve to death. No wonder the pale horse rider is known as Death, with Hell following; multitudes will be wiped out.

And as for earthquakes, the world has not yet seen what they will see during the time of God’s great judgment. There are earthquakes coming in that time combined with other cosmic disturbances that will cause mountains and islands to be moved from their places, some never to be found again! Imagine it, cosmic disturbances so great they cause the sun to become black and the moon to become blood red … plus stars and planets falling from the heavens slamming the earth, flattening mountains and drowning islands. The earth will be utterly shaken. Not only will this, as well as guns, bombs, knives, guillotines, pestilence and disease kill people by the thousands, so will a plague of hail; some hailstones weighing anything from 50 – 100 pounds in weight.

So great will fear come upon people, both rich and poor will cry out to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb (Jesus)!” Revelation 6:16. How about that! Even the God-denying evolutionary humanists among them will become believers in God, but will not be able to repent; it’s part of their judgment. They’ll be hiding in caves with no other alternative but to cry out to mountains and rocks to save them from Him! That’s a hard way to discover the foolishness of treating the earth as though it had been some god. So much for their godless goals of “saving the planet“!

During World War Two, the Russians developed a “scorched earth” policy – a military burning strategy involving the destruction of anything that might have been useful to their German enemy while advancing through or withdrawing from an area. Well, God has a “scorched earth” policy too. In the great tribulation He’s going to burn up loads and loads of trees and lots and lots of grass! Revelation 8:7. And there’s not a thing the Greens Party will be able to do about it. Desalination plants will be rendered useless too – that is unless they are able to rid the sea from blood or similar, plus dead creatures and destroyed ships Revelation 8:8-9. By the way, Greens, “your” rivers and springs will be poisoned Revelation 8:10. 

At some point while all this is going on foul and loathsome malignant sores are going to break out on people all over the world. There’ll be no cures for them. All Scientific research will come to nothing and the medical profession will be at a loss to explain. Why? Cures for disease can be found under God’s mercy, but this is not mercy time, it’s judgment time – crushing, devastating judgment upon all the haters of God. In addition to these woes, they will have global warming to deal with – not man-made, which they will discover has always been a lie, but rather, God-made! God is going to cause the sun to get so hot that people will be literally scorched with its heat. What will be their response? They will blaspheme the name of God Revelation 16:8-9.

The great tribulation judgment is going to last for seven years, but the last three and a half years will be a massive, devastating holocaust. Then at the end of it, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is God Almighty Incarnate, is going to come and show Himself on the scene. He’s coming back to establish His kingdom rule. He spoke about this when he was here, as did the Old Testament prophets hundreds of years earlier. Jesus is the white horse rider with the names Faithful and True, The Word of God, King of Kings and Lord of Lords Revelation 19:11-16. ‘Gentle Jesus meek and mild’ He will not be on that day! For the ungodly who are still alive at that time they will get to experience the ferocity of His vengeance 2 Thessalonians 1:8-10.

These people have spent their lives ridiculing Christ, standing over the Bible and judging it instead of bowing under it allowing it to judge them. So now, they will taste the power of both. Jesus Christ will literally speak their death by the sword (words) of His mouth and they will drop dead before Him and the birds will gorge themselves on their flesh Revelation 19:17-21. Kings, presidents, prime ministers, military generals, soldiers, free people, slaves, great people and nobodies … it’s the fate of them all. Then at the end of Jesus’ one thousand year reign He will judge them along with all the ungodly dead from history’s beginning, at the great white throne. They will be cast them into the lake of fire, known as the second death Revelation 20:11-15.

One reason why people hate God is because they know they are accountable to Him. One reason why people hate Jesus Christ is because they know He is THE TRUTH. One reason why people hate the Jews is because they are jealous of them for being God’s chosen people. One reason why people hate the Bible is because it confronts them with what they are and calls them to change – repent! One reason why people hate born again Christians is that they are jealous of them for being God’s people too. So when added up here, we see there are five reasons why people will go through the great tribulation … God-haters, Jesus-haters, Jew-haters, Bible-haters, born again Christian-haters. That’s it!

It is not God’s desire that anybody would go through the great tribulation. But justice must be served. That makes sense doesn’t it? What do you demand when your rights, person, people or property get violated? The first thing you demand is action from the police, then advice from your lawyer. Then, in that courtroom you demand justice! So why are you so foolish as to believe God doesn’t demand justice for the violations you’ve committed against Him? It’s time to wake up and wisely think this through. I say “wisely” because it’s only the wise thinker who can come to no other conclusion than that of God Almighty being indeed most merciful – always has been for the one who humbles himself and turns to the Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. 

Savior means ‘deliverer’. Redeemer means ‘one who buys back, pays the price/ransom’. For the purposes of this post, that means Jesus took your five hatreds upon Himself and died on the cross for you so that you don’t have to go into the great tribulation and die and then, one thousand years later die a second time both body and soul in the lake of fire. By the way, death means ‘separation’ not ‘annihilation’. People say, “When I die it’ll be all over.” That’s a lie. For all of us, eternity has a beginning but it has no end. So, what’s it to be for you – an eternity of life or an eternity of death? “For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord GOD. “Therefore turn and live!” Ezekiel 18:32. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16.
