A Satanically-possessed gunman slaughters 59 people and wounds an additional 500-plus people in Las Vegas, USA, and the female Reverend of the 5500-member Chicago Fourth Presbyterian Church says, “It’s overwhelming and God has some explaining to do.” Wrong, Reverend. Not according to Job Chapters 38-41 He hasn’t! It is you who has some explaining to do. And explain you certainly will, if you fail to humble yourself and come to your senses. The Reverend also says she doesn’t believe God will send anyone to hell. In a sense that’s true, but that won’t stop her from entering it!
What, you mean she’ll go to hell because she says God has some explaining to do over the Las Vegas incident? No, not that. She also says Christianity is not the only way to heaven, “God’s not a Christian.” The fact that Jesus Christ declared, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me John 14:6, doesn’t seem to register with her. A Christian is a Christ-one. If you’re not one with Christ, you are one with the devil! And after having listened to a 43-minute radio interview with this Reverend, it would seem that’s who she’s one with, and so, with his very willing guidance she’ll send herself there! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves Matthew 7:15.
The Reverend doesn’t look like a ravenous wolf though; neither does she sound like one. But she does look and sound like an angel of light, which is much the same thing! 2 Corinthians 11:14. Asked by the radio man if some had left her church, she said they probably had done so, but that others had joined the church too. Well that definitely fits with the Scriptures! As has been said often on this blog, truth is not the reason most people join the church. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires (lusts), because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to fables 2 Timothy 4:3-4.
Imagine now if the Reverend was a true woman of God. She would be led by the Holy Spirit, she would be centered in Jesus Christ, she would be solidly grounded in the holy Scriptures and she would be saddened at people leaving. But in addition, she would not be the authority of her church. As a true woman of God she would be one who was submitted to Scripture on this serious matter. And I do not permit a woman to teach or have authority over a man…… 1 Timothy 2:12. Perhaps she would function in the spiritual gifts of prophecy and healing, etc, but she would not be a voice in matters of Church Government and Doctrine. The fact that she is not submitted to such is clear evidence she is not submitted to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Head of the church.
This explains her low view of Scripture, God Almighty, the Lord Jesus Christ and her arrogance towards them all. In reality, like multitudes of Reverends ruling churches throughout the world, this Reverend is her own god. The New Testament tells us that apostasy will be one of the evidences of the last days church. Quote: “As to the forms of apostasy, there are two main types: (1) a falling away from key and true doctrines of the Bible into heretical teachings that proclaim to be “the real” Christian doctrine, and (2) a complete renunciation of the Christian faith, which results in a full abandonment of Christ.” – Paul Enns. Type 2 here doesn’t mean the Reverend will abandon the words of Christ though, for without them she’d have nothing to say and nobody to say them to!
Another quote: “It takes a sharp eye these days to know which brother is Cain and which is Abel.” – AW Tozer. Very true; but it shouldn’t take a sharp eye to know which sister is Sarah and which is Jezebel! Sarah’s don’t usurp male headship, only Jezebel’s do that, even though many of them are not sexually immoral! Today’s Jezebel’s are idolatrous though; the god this Reverend worships is one of her own making. Her god is not a Christian and he has no hell. Tell that to Judas! Acts 1:25. That’s the type of message itching ears love to hear; it makes them feel as though they’re the real deal when they’re not. For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, they are enemies of the cross of Christ…… Philippians 3:18.
Enemies of the cross of Christ are not into self-denial, they’re into self-indulgence. That’s why away from church people, there’s often little distinction between them and unbelievers in speech and behavior. No, they don’t drop four-letter words, get drunk or tell dirty jokes, but they mix with people who do and they often watch TV programs and Internet channels where similar and worse is expressed. No such reality as persecution and suffering for Christ to be expected from this world-friendly crowd. No fear of job loss or imprisonment for them either. In fact, if these things should hit the West as they have hit the Middle East and beyond, these people will probably be first in the queue to throw us to the wolves!
Holding the low view this Reverend does about God and the Lord Jesus Christ is no surprise though. According to a USA Presbyterian Panel Survey for 2012-2014, 45% of Presbyterian pastors either strongly disagree or disagree that “only followers of Jesus Christ can be saved.” If that’s the percentage for pastors, it’s likely the same or higher for their congregants. Think of it now; this Reverend has influence over 5500 members. How much influence might each one of those have over people they’re in contact with on a daily basis – especially young children and adolescents in their charge? Now replicate similar with the 45%. No wonder Bible Christians in the USA say the church is spiritually sick. Not that we Australian Christians can point the finger!
No wonder the Interfaith Movement holds the sway it does in many churches. It is Reverends like this one who open welcoming doors for it to enter in. If God is not a Christian and Christianity is not the only way to heaven then why restrict one’s self to one Holy Book and one Holy Savior? This is how the “there-are-many-roads-to-heaven” mentality works and it sucks in more people who should know better than it does those who don’t know better. Truth is, whether one wants to believe it or not, there are many roads to hell and there’s only one road to heaven. We can trust the Lord Jesus’ word on this matter. Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it Matthew 7:13.
So for the benefit of new Christians and those not as yet mature in Bible knowledge, the question to ask is, why these beliefs from Reverends like this woman? What is at the heart of it all? Answer: Rebellion! Essentially, that’s what apostasy is. Apostates are rebels at heart towards God, rebels at heart towards Jesus Christ and rebels at heart towards Truth. That’s it in a nutshell; religious, but rebellious! And sadly, the Scriptures show us these are the people creating the One-world Church that will lead people by the thousands and thousands into the Great Tribulation, once the true Jesus Christ comes to remove His true church from the earth. When people steadfastly refuse to believe and embrace the revelation of God, He removes His hand from them.
“God has some explaining to do,” so says the Reverend about the Las Vegas tragedy. I’ve heard similar statements from people over the years. They too refused to accept God’s written explanation for it all; that it all began with the two original rebels in the Garden of Eden, called Adam and Eve. They too refused to accept the fact of sin and the human tragedies that immediately followed as a result of it. They too refused to accept the fact that, the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked… Jeremiah 17:9. Worst of all, they refused to accept the fact that they too were like-sinners in desperate need of the one and only Savior, Jesus Christ. They saw themselves as good people with no need for repentance, forgiveness and the redemption of their soul.
Don’t be deceived by this religious but rebellious Reverend who says, “God has some explaining to do.” Don’t be deceived by Very Reverends either, or Pastors, or Elders, or Fathers – or anyone who says it. It is they who have some explaining to do to God when they stand before Him; it’s never the other way round. If at death their spiritual condition remains unchanged they will know in a split second that hell is where they’ll spend their eternity, not heaven. And as was mentioned at the start of this post, they will know they sent themselves to hell, God didn’t send them. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God Hebrews 10:31. No prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit 2 Peter 1:20-21.

And amen again, Larry. Thanks.
