Get Away from Religious Impostors

Question: What is it churches endorsing same-sex marriage, transgenderism and interfaith have in common? Answer: they are all walking a road they believe takes them to heaven, but the reality is it takes them to hell. It matters not the number of arrow-pointed signs marked “Heaven” on that road, hell is where they’re headed and most of them will get there. Yes, the leaders know the command and promise from Jesus, Enter by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it Matthew 7:13. They know it, they just don’t believe it.

Whenever we Bible Christians hear or read of some leader/s saying they’ve spent long hours, days, months or years “wrestling with Scripture” over these or like matters, we need to understand those people are not believers, they’re unbelievers. Yes, they say they believe in God but the truth is they don’t believe God. God gave us one Book only; reject what you dislike in it and you reject God Himself. And as for their “wrestling with Scripture” it sounds so sincere and spiritual; the truth is the opposite – insincere and carnal! Bible Christians should get as far away from them as possible. Why? God has given them over to a debased mind Romans 1:18-32. Hang around them and they’ll fill you with doubt, confusion and spiritual instability.

Jesus tells Bible Christians, not only is the gate we enter narrow, but also, difficult is the way…… Matthew 7:13. In other words, the Christian life is not a cakewalk; it calls for wisdom, understanding and discernment along the way. We are to treasure the Lord’s commands within us, so as doubt, confusion and spiritual instability don’t overtake us Proverbs 2:1-9. That’s one grand reason why Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit, Who, by the way, those insincere, carnal people do not have. When Jesus said of the Holy Spirit, He will guide you into all truth John 16:13, it was the truth written from the first page of Genesis and the last page of Revelation He was referring to, not anyone else’s “truth” no matter how clever, convincing or appealing it may sound.

Unless we make it our habit to regularly read and study the Bible Scriptures and then humbly submit to them, it will be difficult to hear from the Holy Spirit for it is these He uses primarily to teach us. That being the case, not one jot or one tittle will He overlook let alone one word, phrase or passage Matthew 5:18. Church leaders endorsing same-sex marriage, transgenderism and interfaith will overlook them though at the drop of a hat! Remember the warning from Jesus: Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves Matthew 7:15. “Religious impostors” is another name for these people, but we need the Holy Spirit to reveal that truth, for without Him we’ll be subtly seduced into thinking they are the real deal.

For the benefit of new Christians: Whenever you hear a pastor or reverend etc. tell you he or she has been “wrestling with Scripture,” know that you are listening to a religious impostor. Ignore his or her title, religious garb or lack of; ignore his or her certifications or lack of; ignore his or her voice and language of compassion; you are in the presence of a religious impostor – a deceiver – a misleader. He or she may have been led down that road by others, but nevertheless, that’s what they are. No person submitted wholly to Bible Scripture “wrestles” with it. Whether they like it or not or understand it or not, they will say, “Thy will be done, Lord, not my will,” and that’s the way they’ll preach it and teach it.

Don’t be deceived by their use of Scripture though; the fact that they don’t honor it and submit to it doesn’t mean they won’t use it to back up what they teach. They certainly will use it, for how else can they convince you to accept what you hear? The same goes for the Lord Jesus. He’s not Lord of them, but that won’t stop them from quoting what He says from the gospels. What you need to be alert to is how they speak of Jesus’ love, mercy and forgiveness, but never speak on His warnings of judgment, damnation and hell. Religious impostors will talk endlessly on how compassionate Jesus is and how as His children, we must be the same and demonstrate such in our lives. What they ignore however, it’s the compassionate Christian who declares Jesus’ warnings.

Religious impostors have in their possession always, quite a few favorite Scriptures. Matthew 7:1 is one of them: Judge not that you be not judged. They love that one! It’s the main Scripture they use for getting their people to accept same-sex marriage, transgenderism and interfaith. It’s a rare Christian who knows they’re listening to the devil when an advocate of those things pulls that one on them. It also explains why the church has embraced this stuff; nobody wants to be branded as one who’s judgmental, even those who know they are not! On the other hand, you will never hear them quote, Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment John 7:24. (Underline mine). Another word for righteous, is ‘holy’.

1 John 4:8 God is love is another favorite of theirs. They won’t mention the fact that it’s written in the context of how to discern between the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. They can’t mention it of course, for they are not in possession of the Spirit of truth. But, if they preach it often enough, they’ll manage to convince many who are in possession of the Holy Spirit! Religious impostors use that Scripture too, to put down Bible Christians disagreeing with them. When they come at us charging us with being fundamentalists, homophobes, intolerant and any other infantile insult, that’s the one they’ll use, “God is love and you don’t have it!” What should we call to mind when told that? It is they who don’t have it!

Another favorite Scripture of religious impostors: Love suffers long and is kind… bears all things. Love never fails 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. But again in their quoting, they will not draw attention to the fact that in the same passage it says of love, it rejoices in the truth. And should you draw their attention to it, they may smile at you, but inwardly they’ll be seething; you’ll see it in their eyes. The first half of John 3:16 they’ll quote: God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. But you’ll not hear the second half: that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. In their deceived mind everyone goes to heaven when they die. That’s why those who follow them believe they’re going there.

Religious impostors endorsing same-sex marriage, transgenderism and interfaith in the church are not merely deceived, they are strongly deluded. We see in these people a foretaste of what will become common in “churches” once the true Church has been removed from the earth. They are the first-fruits of those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth that they might be saved. Note the following now: And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness 1 Thessalonians 2:10-12. See it? It is not Satan-sent strong delusion it is God-sent strong delusion.

Twice in the one Scripture, Jesus told the religious impostors of His day, you will die in your sins John 8:24. And the reason He told them? They did not believe Jesus was God Incarnate, which also means they did not believe His word. Just like these of today, they were self-righteous, carnal, unbelieving and willfully ignorant people. They had all the evidence they needed to believe, but they didn’t have the humility, which must go with the evidence. But on this one will I look: on him who is poor (humble) and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word Isaiah 66:2. Religious impostors will act and speak as though they’re humble – pretty smiles, soft voices, lots of Christian-speak and what have you, but Christ sees who they are and He shows us too.

At the start of this post I said most people on that road to hell will get there. Which means all glory to God, not all will get there! Are you a member of a church that’s on that road? If you can answer in the affirmative, it means the Holy Spirit has mercifully revealed it to you. It means too, now is the time for you to get away from religious impostors; they are detrimental to your spiritual well-being. And tell others in that church of your decision to leave and why you are doing so. It is now time to repent of your sin of unbelief, confess Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and live for Him as He reveals Himself through the Bible Scriptures. Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 1 Corinthians 6:14.

    1. Well God bless you, Sheila. I’m glad it ministered to you.

The church can expect more and more religious impostors to infiltrate as the days get spiritually darker. Thank you for commenting.
