Cowering Behind Skirts of Political Correctness

Comments from Hal Lindsey (article here) struck a chord with me this week: “I believe, too, that the justification for the prosecution of individual Christians will be our refusal to follow the dictates of political correctness……..Satan’s real goal is to convince men that there are MANY roads to heaven. So, if he can make us unwilling to suggest that one way is better than another way – for instance, capitalism is better than collectivism, democracy is better than theocracy, life is better than death, or heterosexuality is better than homosexuality – then he can set the stage for prosecuting Christians for claiming that Christianity is the better way because it is the ONLY way to heaven.” Did you note the words prosecution/prosecuting not ‘persecution’/’persecuting’?

I wonder how many Christians are giving that serious thought presently. You stand up and proclaim Jesus and His TRUTH, the next thing you receive in the mail is a fine – or a summons to appear before a judge or magistrate because you’ve broken the “law”. It’s going on in Europe; pastors are being jailed for their biblical stand. How long before that happens in the nation we live? When I first became a Christian, some there were who told me, “The Rapture will happen any day now; soon we’ll be out of here.” Thinking about them now, it’s doubtful they expressed that based on personal, end-times Bible studies, but rather, wishful thinking based on fear of persecution. What might they say today to a new Christian based on fear of prosecution?

My own end-times studies lead me to believe the Rapture will be pre-Tribulational, (not because of persecution and prosecution fears, but because it seems to be the most natural and Christ-honoring), but that doesn’t mean I don’t believe God will allow us to go through some rough stuff before that event happens Acts 14:22; 1 Peter 4:12-14. Thing is, am I prepared for it? Are you prepared for it? Multitudes of Western world Christians are not prepared for it; they’re living in a spiritual fantasy world … a God-dishonoring, Christ-dishonoring, Holy Spirit-dishonoring, Bible-dishonoring, spiritual fantasy world. Do you think God is going to allow that to continue right up to Rapture day?

Jesus is coming back for a faithful, pure bride, a chaste virgin 2 Corinthians 11:2, not a two-timing, wayward, religious strumpet! That’s why God set Israel aside temporarily; He’ll sort them out during the Tribulation. We who say we are Christians are about to get sorted out now! Loads of Christians are cowering behind skirts of political correctness today. By the time Jesus is finished with them, they will again stand up in robes of righteousness Isaiah 61:10. Any who don’t will demonstrate to themselves and the world that they’re not Christians and never have been. Phony Christians, yes, just like the crowd Jesus rebuked Matthew 15:7-9; Mark 7:6-7, as did God Himself to the people 730 years earlier Isaiah 29:13. All religion, no reality!

Why are Christians cowering behind skirts of political correctness today? Just like the unbelieving world, they’re being influenced and pressured by family, friends, work colleagues, political leaders, community leaders, the media and other so-called movers and shakers. But their greatest influence and pressure is not coming from those people, it’s coming from their church leaders – particularly men and women with a title – Reverend, Very Reverend, Doctor, Venerable, Father, Bishop, Arch-bishop, plus numerous post-nominal letters after their name. Many (not all) there are among them with love those for things more than love for God, and much more than love for His revealed word – the Bible.

Christian leaders cowering behind skirts of political correctness have a pride problem. Biblically the word ‘pride’ means: arrogance, excellency, haughtiness, high-minded, highness, proud, proudly, pomp, swelling, lifting up, presumptuous, self-conceit, self-confidence. Looking at that list, you can forget about such men and women ever coming under prosecution for Jesus, because there’s no way they’re ever going allow persecution to get near them. However, they also have a fear problem. Biblically the word ‘fear’ means: frighten, frightened, anxiety, afraid, exceedingly afraid, dread, quaking, trembling, terror. Looking at that list, you can see why they’re attracted to political correctness! It helps them take their mind off those realities!

Christians sitting under such people are in grave danger of becoming like them. What’s at the top always flows down and there’s only one way to stop this particular flow and that is to come back to the Scriptures of the Bible. Start again with the gospels; read as much as you can daily in one sitting then move on to the rest of the New Testament. In between these it would be helpful too to read one or two Psalms and a chapter of Proverbs. Keep in mind the Old Testament too. Daily committing to a disciplined, systematic reading like that is the only way we can develop strong faith in God. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God Romans 10:17. As God’s people we must understand God has nothing to say to us outside of His word.

The word of God is God Himself John 1:1. That means the more serious we take the word, the more serious we take God, which in turn now means, the more serious He takes us. In other words, you take God at His word; He’ll take you at your word! Let’s look at an example of this. The Apostle Paul tells the church to, desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy 1 Corinthians 14:1. He didn’t mean for us to go around foretelling (predicting) like the prophets of old, but rather, forth tell (make public) what’s already written. As FB Meyer puts it, “The word prophesy is used here, as so largely in Scripture, not in the limited sense of foretelling the future, but of pouring forth heaven-given speech.”

That’s what the apostle Peter did at Pentecost Acts 2:14-43. Under the anointing of the Holy Spirit he stood up and poured forth heaven-given speech from the already-written Scriptures and all who were appointed to get cut to the heart got cut to the heart! Three thousand people were born again that day. They got baptized that day too, not ten, twenty or thirty years later like so many Christians do this day. That’s what the Holy Spirit desires of us too – declare His already-written heaven-given speech. But it’s not possible to do so on an empty heart! It is our heart that must be filled with the word of God, not our head; otherwise the Spirit has got nothing to work with. That’s why He has no use for the majority of the titled and lettered people.

Christian leaders cowering behind skirts of political correctness are used by Satan the devil to deceive their people into accepting the Bible as simply “another sacred book” along with all the others so-called. In other words, the Bible is not the only book they use to view God, they use those of Eastern religions, Mystics, the Koran, old time and modern day philosophers and other such humanists. Perhaps it’s only the Bible they hold in their hands when they stand in their pulpits to “preach” but they will interpret what they’re preaching in the “light” of the other books, not in the light of the sixty-six books within the Bible itself. That’s why they can say, “Jesus never said anything about it” when He did so somewhere else between Genesis and Revelation.

The Bible is nothing like those other books. It’s as different from any as chalk is to cheese; nothing in common with them whatsoever. One difference, the Bible is a prophetic book, the only one that is. None but the Bible contains predictions as to the future. Clarence Larkin (1850-1924) said of prophecy, it is “History Written in Advance.” He said, “The importance of the study of the Prophetic Scriptures is seen when we recall that two-thirds of the Scriptures are Prophetic, either in type, symbol, or direct statement; and more than one-half of the Old Testament prophecies, and nearly all of the New Testament, point to events yet future……When men see that God has a “Plan and Purpose” in the (Dispensational) “Ages” they take heart, and have something to pin their faith to.”

More: “It was because the religious leaders of Christ’s day were not students of the Prophetic Scriptures that they failed to recognize Him when He came, and if the religious leaders of our day despise and reject the study of Prophecy, they will not be ready for Christ’s Second Coming.” (Underlines mine). Satan knows the Bible bases its authenticity and authority on prophecy, that’s why he’s never ceased undermining its prophecy. That’s why he has Christians despising Jews as much as the world despises them. He doesn’t want you to know that Israel will be the centerpiece during the Millennial reign of Jesus on the earth. Same applies to the Rapture of the church in preparation for the same period. He wants you mocking that event as much as the world mocks it.

Satan is the author of political correctness; no human being could come up with something so demeaning, degrading and diabolical. Sad it is that so many people from all walks of life are bowing at its altar. Satan is clapping his hands at this. Where for centuries he’s been unable to dumb people down because they kept their distance from his man-centered religions, he’s finding himself very able to do it with this. As well, this is a better deal for him by far than two other things he’s authored too – Communism and Marxism, even though it’s a bastard child of the latter! Yes, political correctness is the tool Satan will use to keep the majority of people from turning to Jesus Christ, but it’s also the tool he’ll use to throw them into the Great Tribulation.

In the Great Tribulation, nobody will be cowering behind skirts of political correctness. It will not exist! Everyone will do to the letter what the Anti-Christ dictates. Nobody will be merely persecuted if they refuse; they will be prosecuted then executed! In the meantime Christian brother and sister, political correctness is Satan’s end-time strategy – his masterpiece in fact, to pull you away from the biblical Lord Jesus. The word of God, the presence of God and the power of God are our end-time Strategies – our Masterpieces in fact, to pull us closer to the Lord Jesus. Satan’s successes against us are temporal, Jesus’ successes against him are permanent … final! “Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake” Isaiah 54:15. “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming” Matthew 24:42.

  1. Christians buy into political correctness because they don’t personally know God well enough to answer gotcha questions like, “But doesn’t God love everyone?” or “If your God is so great, why do people suffer and children die?” and “Do you mean that a selfless, wonderful, generous person will go to Hell unless Jesus is professed as Lord?”

Apart from Christianity (defined as believing the Bible to be the inerrant and infallible Word of God) every form of western society today pits belief in God against the logic of man. Evolution has no scientific basis but makes “more sense” to humans than God.

God requires that we submit to His authority and His supremacy. The intelligentsia believes we are mentally weak and unstable – and definitely intolerant.

This battle has been raging since the Garden gate slammed behind Adam and Eve, The war is over, but the artillery is getting bigger and coming more frequently.

    1. I was just thinking about the “gotcha” crowd today. Lynn … how right you are! Christians are paying the price for failing to get serious with God and it’s only going to get worse.

As for the gotcha’s, their time is coming. One pays a high price who creates God in the image of man! Thanks.

      God bless your day

  2. I just recently come across your site I believe was divinely appt. I was saved since 1983 and like many Christians I jumped out of the gate on fire only to allow myself to be tripped up by the enemy because of things ranging from family pressure to worldly cares. Time and space will not allow me to elaborate. Suffice to say I am so grateful for my savior’s mercies and grace that he did not allow the enemy to overtake me. And today I’m the better for it. To him be all honor and glory. What I believe was a key in my spiritual survival is the knowledge that the Holy Spirit through Gods word that was revealed to me over the many years held me so accountable that I could in no way be comfortable in any condition contrary to his holiness. And your site has greatly contributed to that. Again, to Him be all the glory and honor. I look fwd to continually reading in addition to my existing studies your site and materials. It is painfully obvious that the spirit of compromise has taken a strong hold on many of Gods people. But it’s no surprise in that the scriptures already pointed this out in the gospel of Matt 7: “wide us the gate and narrow is the way” (if I may be allowed to condense it) Nevertheless my apologies for this lengthy response. I’m just excited that I was able to come across like minded believers such as yourself who are not afraid to put it on the line and step on the needed toes (mine included!). May the Lord continually bless and use you to his glory.

    1. Hi Ralph

Thank you for sharing your testimony. It will witness to and encourage others who are presently where you’ve been.

What I believe was a key in my spiritual survival is the knowledge that the Holy Spirit through God’s word that was revealed to me over the many years held me so accountable…….

Indeed, all honor and glory to God for keeping you accountable – me too! Without the Holy Spirit nothing happens.

May God continue to bless and encourage you too, Ralph.

      Praying for us all.
