Whether they were church-goers or not, every so often on the streets I was asked, “What does ‘born again’ mean?” Thanks to the Internet today there are some wonderful, in-depth, theological answers to the question, but for the purposes of this post, it literally means to be “born from above by the Spirit of God.” In other words, a spiritual transformation takes Read the rest of this entry »

I was often amazed however, at just how rude and bad mannered many of the elderly, retired, ”well-to do” people could become. In every other way perhaps, they would probably show up in society as good, moral, loving, law-abiding citizens, enjoying Read the rest of this entry »

I then went on to say that if he really was Jesus, then he’d be doing the work Jesus said He would be doing when He returns. Read the rest of this entry »

I met Mrs Stone at the local shopping center street festival. It was during a time of economic downturn - unemployment was high, school leavers couldn’t find jobs, businesses in the street and elsewhere were closing down and in general there was an air of hopelessness across the community. During His ministry on earth, Jesus Christ asked His disciples as to who the people thought He was. Now, it wasn’t that He didn’t know what the people were thinking or saying about Him, but He used this to challenge the disciples with His next question, “Who do you say I am?” To all who have heard the gospel of Christ, the same question applies today.
